Interfaith Food Bank of Amador County

Deuteronomy 15:11 – “For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’”

The Interfaith Food Bank of Amador County is working hard to provide our county with healthy food. They envision a time when parents don’t go without to feed their children, and a time when the elderly do not choose between housing, life saving medication, and food.

At Cornerstone, we recognize there are many in our community who are struggling financially, often resulting in hunger. In response to this community need, Cornerstone Church has joined with the Interfaith Food Bank of Amador County by way of our MAC & CHEESE ministry. When Cornerstone attendees are purchasing their groceries, they commit to purchase two extra boxes of MAC & CHEESE for the monthly collections at church, which are then distributed by the Interfaith Food Bank to struggling families. In 2014, the Interfaith Food Bank served 2,526 families.

The Wood Angels are a volunteer 501(c)3 nonprofit charity of individuals whose mission is to furnish elderly, veterans, disabled and those in need who have a limited income for essentials such as firewood to keep them warm throughout the winter season. Cornerstone often volunteers to process, stack, and deliver wood for Wood Angels.
